Carlos Saura. Goya of Honor

Carlos Saura was one of the most international filmmakers in Spanish cinema. His work extends over a period of more than sixty years and features the exploration of the visual and plastic limits in the seventh art. Cinema, together with photography, has guided his passion for rethinking traditional Spanish culture and placing it in the present while projecting his artistic personality into the future. With the Goya of Honour awarded in 2023, the Spanish Film Academy has given a significant recognition to the work of Saura, a filmmaker who has already achieved an undeniable place in the top of the cinematographic Olympus.
