Carlos Saura. Goya of Honor

Carlos Saura was one of the most international filmmakers in Spanish cinema. His work extends through more than sixty years and is marked by the investigation of the visual and plastic limits in the seventh art. Cinema, together with photography, has been able to accompany him in his passion for rethinking traditional Spanish culture and placing it in the present while projecting his artistic personality into the future.

With the award of the Goya of Honor in 2023, the Film Academy has given a significant award to the work of Saura, a filmmaker who has already achieved an undeniable place in the cinematographic Olympus.
