Aljamía 2026
The Aljamía cycle provides the ideal setting for publishers,
translators, academics from Los Angeles County and surrounding counties to meet
with Spanish-language writers. Southern California is a particularly active
region in terms of the publication and reception of literature originally
written in Spanish, and the Institute's initiative aims to facilitate the
transition to English for well-known authors in this large area of the United
States through meetings with professionals linked to both cultural languages.
In its 2026 edition in Los Angeles, authors such as Brenda Navarro, Pascal
Brodsky, Judith Santopietro, Fátima Villalta, Irene Rodrigo, Florencia del
Campo, Luna Miguel, Lorea Canales, Andres Felipe Solano, and Matías Candeira
will participate throughout the year, either in person or online, in specific
programs in collaboration with publishers, universities, and literary centers
in the area.
