Emerging Voices
Inspired by the spirit of bilingual literature in Spanish and English—the languages in which most of the authors in this series write and publish—“Emerging Voices” is a literary invitation to pause time, listen to the emerging voices from across the Americas and Spain, and perceive the world through their eyes. A series to discover new ways of narrating and thinking about the world, linked in one way or another to the American literary scene in Spanish. Ten authors who do not hesitate to step outside prevailing expectations in the literary sphere, both in the themes they explore and in their desire to renew established methods of storytelling. In its second edition in the United States, Letras emergentes ultimately aims to identify ways of making something as multifaceted, as ultimately elusive as the present itself, thinkable. Few things, like literary lucidity—whose foundation, language, written language, is that matrix capable of uniting the universal with the singularity of each existence—can perceive the precariousness of established truths, the futility of beliefs, and the triviality of the nihilism to which they lead. A series curated and moderated by Mexican writer and journalist Mauricio Ruíz.
