Science in the kitchen
The Cervantes Institute in London is organising a workshop (introductory talk and laboratory practice) led by three expert scientists in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, aimed at secondary school students to illustrate concepts of science using elements from daily life that are also found in the shopping basket. Simple experiments will be conducted related to concepts studied in science lessons, encouraging scientific curiosity for their application in daily life and the construction of knowledge. The themes of the workshop are: Milk; The egg; Red cabbage; Spherification with yogurts; and the chromatography of plant pigments. Event organised in collaboration with CERU/SRUK (Society of Spanish Scientists in the United Kingdom).
