Unfit

Unfit Ariana Harwicz (Editorial Acantilado)

Instituto Cervantes in New York has joined our Aljamía program. This initiative is dedicated to promoting and supporting the translation of works originally written in Spanish, with the aim of expanding their reach and recognition internationally.

In this context, we are pleased to announce the visit of writer Ariana Harwicz to New York on October 29, for the launch of the English translation of her latest work, Unfit. The event will be held at McNally Jackson Seaport, one of the city's most iconic independent bookstores.

Unfit is an intense and provocative novel that continues Harwicz's literary exploration of the limits of motherhood, madness, and marginality. With sharp and visceral prose, the author constructs a narrator who challenges social and emotional conventions, immersing the reader in a deeply uncomfortable and revealing literary experience. The translation, carried out with the same rigor and sensitivity that characterizes the original work, allows English-speaking audiences to access a unique voice in contemporary Spanish literature.
