Zonazine: Documentaries by female filmmakers
Festival de Málaga - Cine en españolZonazine documentary is a stable program of the Instituto Cervantes whose name comes from one of the sections of the Malaga Festival - Cinema in Spanish (Spain), with whom we co-organise, every year, this cycle of contemporary documentaries made by Spanish and Latin American creators in the field of documentary film production more attached to formulas of experimentation and chronicle of reality. In this edition of 2022, we present four documentaries directed by women, in which it is easy to recognise a different formulation of political and social concerns, ranging from the inquiry about the self -as an unavoidable vital questioning- to the ecological or humanitarian denunciation as a painful feature of our contemporaneity: the idea of migration and movement runs through this cycle as a characteristic feature of our world that sometimes harbors hope and other times sadness or despair.
