Mastering Spanish Wine

Mastering Spanish Wine Instituto Cervantes de Manila

Discover the world of Spanish wine with a talk and tasting led by two renowned professionals, endorsed by the Spanish Wine Federation (FEV) and the Pérez Barquero Winery. During the workshop, you will learn in a relaxed atmosphere about Spanish wine culture and its territory, within the historical, scientific, and geographical context, as well as the language and its people. In his talk “Spanish wine: a history of adventurers, dreamers, and poets,” Juan Manuel Bellver will discuss the past and present of Spanish wine, without forgetting the inspiring role it has played in the work of Hispanic writers from different periods. Following this introduction, Rafael Delgado, winemaker at Bodega Pérez Barquero, will lead a tasting of six wines from Bodega Pérez Barquero. The tasting will include a presentation and introduction to the types of wine in order to deepen knowledge of the grape, the region, and the production process, as well as a sensory analysis to appreciate the differences in color, aroma, and flavor.
