The Realism in Spanish Cinema of the 50's

Spanish cinema of the 50's came with the intention to make a legacy. After a time of production within the political and cultural framework of the Franco regime, this is the moment of a new generation of filmmakers and film-lovers, with a keen social consciousness and an aesthetic referent nourished by the codes of the European realism (visibly by the Italian neorrealism) take over in making a different cinema. Starting from framework of traditional films, related to daily and familiar characters, the imaginary that arises from this cinema has turned into a tangible referent of the classical Spanish cinematography.
