FIVER. Their look. 10 years of film dance in Spain
As part of the activities to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Baila España, the festival of contemporary dance that the Institute celebrates in the city of Bremen, we present in our third year of collaboration with FIVER (Festival of Cinema, Dance and New Media) a new series of short films: «Their look. 10 years of film dance in Spain », curated by Samuel Retortillo, director of the international support platform, exhibition and film and dance production Fiver, which encourages choreographic-audiovisual creation promoting the professionalization of the film dance genre with the organization, since 2012, of the Internationally renowned annual festival.
With “Their look. 10 years of film dance in Spain”, whose titles can be seen in the Vimeo channel of Instituto Cervantes, they wanted to make a feminine retrospective through the selection of ten short films directed by award-winning women and finalists in FIVER between 2012 and 2021 -one per edition- with the aim of highlighting the pioneering, transgressive, creative and brave looks of so many directors who have created and promoted this genre that unites the body and screen.
