12th ISLA Festival

12th ISLA Festival Diseño: Garp Estudio

This is the twelfth edition of a festival that started in 2012, organised by the Dublin branch of Instituto Cervantes in collaboration with all the Hispanic embassies in Ireland. Seeking to create dialogue between Ireland’s most representative voices and their counterparts in Spanish-speaking countries, in past years ISLA has hosted some of the most outstanding names in contemporary society and welcomed audiences characterised by their high degree of discernment and awareness of contemporary thought and creation.

This year, ISLA events will be spread over two days, with round tables and interviews featuring leading figures from the literary world, including Claire Kilroy (Ireland), Mónica Müller (Argentina), Velia Vidal (Colombia), Gustavo Rodríguez (Perú) and Paul Lynch (Ireland). We will also be joined by Marie Heaney and Jordi Doce (Spain) to celebrate the poetry of Irish Nobel laureate Seamus Heaney, one of our best loved writers; and finally, Claire Keegan and Declan Kiberd will take the floor in a session that promises to divulge the keys of the seductive, charming nature of Irish literature as filtered through the voice of one of its leading international representatives.
