FIVER. CINEDANZA 2021 EXHIBITION.

FIVER. "La mirada de ellas. 10 years of cinedanza in Spain". As part of the activities to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Baila España, the contemporary dance festival that the Institute celebrates in the city of Bremen, we present in our third year of collaboration with FIVER (Festival de Cine, Danza y Nuevos Medios) a new cycle of short films: "La mirada de ellas. 10 years of cinedance in Spain", curated by Samuel Retortillo, director of the international platform for support, exhibition and production of film and dance Fiver, which promotes choreographic-audiovisual creation by promoting the professionalization of the cinedance genre with the organization, since 2012, of the internationally renowned annual festival. With "La mirada de ellas. 10 years of cinedanza in Spain", whose titles can be seen on the Cervantes Institute's Vimeo channel, we wanted to make a retrospective in a female key through the selection of ten short films directed by women awarded and finalists in FIVER between 2012 and 2021 -one per edition- with the aim of highlighting the pioneering, transgressive, creative and courageous looks of so many directors who have created and promoted this genre that unites body and screen.
