Velada Lorca

Velada Lorca Patricia Bolaños

We celebrate the third edition of the Velada Lorca, an event that has been warmly received in New York since its inception—the city the poet chose to lose himself in, reaching lyrical tensions that would forever change the course of Spanish-language poetry. On the eve of commemorating the 90th anniversary of his death and marking the most significant centenary in our literary history—that of the constellation of authors who solidified and mythologized the Generation of ’27—this year’s Velada Lorca will feature a gathering of writers to honor, in all its diversity and vitality, the figure of a poet who taught us that languages, like emotions, are universal, and that reading is the most steadfast way to exercise freedom.
