A happy Spanish couple – one deaf, and one hearing – encounter strains on their tight bond when a new baby leads to drastically different experiences of parenthood. Ángela a deaf woman and Héctor, her hearing partner, are expecting their first child. They are a couple in love, full of the excitement and all the questions that first parents have. However, Angela’s pregnancy triggers fears about motherhood and how she will be able to communicate with her daughter. When the baby is born, they have to wait a few months to know if she can hear or not. Angela can’t help feeling bouts of jealousy, and insecurity: she's not sure whether she would like her child to be hearing or deaf. Héctor is almost certain that the child will be able to hear.
