Three authors, educators, and literary critics Paquita Suárez Coalla, Laura Casielles, and Alba González Sanz—come together in this conversation to explore the paths, tensions, and challenges of Asturian literature written by women. Drawing from their diverse yet deeply connected trajectories, they will address key issues such as:
- The unequal coexistence of Asturian and Spanish in literary creation, and the cultural, political, and symbolic implications of writing in a minoritized language.
- The genealogical tradition of Asturian women writers, the intertextual and intergenerational dialogue between mentors and disciples, and the construction of a female literary memory.
- The intersection of literature, gender, and human rights, with particular attention to the questioning of boundaries—linguistic, territorial, and identity-based from a critical and engaged perspective.
- Literature as a tool for language preservation, as a space of resistance and cultural affirmation.
- A meeting between shores geographical, linguistic, and symbolic that invites us to think about Asturian literature from a transnational, feminist perspective, deeply rooted in its territory.
