Cinema from the Transition in 20 Posters

«With the release of this film, freedom has its premiere.» That's how Basilio Martín Patino's film, Canciones para después de una guerra (Songs for After a War), was publicized in the press on November 1, 1976. The film, which had been censored by the Franco regime in 1971, could finally be viewed on the big screen less than a year after Franco's death. Its director had not foreseen the outcome, but years after its completion, his film had become the symbol of the new era that had dawned after the dictator's death.
