In The Mood of Tempranillo

So many of Spain’s great red wines are made from Tempranillo, that this grape is identified with the country as a whole. However, a look at Spain’s wine map shows that with minor exceptions, the best Tempranillo-based wines come mostly from a relatively small strip in northern Spain that stretches from Rioja to Toro, through Ribera del Duero. This seminar is devoted to the noble, age-worthy, and versatile Tempranillo, Spain's most distinguished black grape, responsible for the great reds of Rioja, Ribera del Duero and Toro.
