Indian Hispanists Forum online
Literature in Spanish or Spanish language has a fruitful and varied tradition, from the Middle Ages with el Cantar de Mio Cid, the first great epic poem in Spanish that we have knowledge of, going through the 17th century with El Quijote of Miguel de Cervantes, the cornerstone of the modern novel (and our patron!), to this day with the monumental novel 2666, of the Chilean Roberto Bolaño, the last great figure of Spanish-American literature. During 2020, Instituto Cervantes will host a series of lectures that will deal with these and other Spanish-American literature authors and its ties with literatures and cultures of the Indian subcontinent, delivered by the most prominent Hispanists of New Delhi.
