Story Time Fotografía: Kino Rebelde

The production of informative documentaries in Spain has experienced a unique boom since the end of the last century and has continued with a notable presence at festivals and as part of television and platform programming. The capacity of the audiovisual narration of the documentary to address current issues or the concerns of society has found in this format a true discovery to connect with the public interested in being informed.

Within this production profile, the concern for memory has had a primordial place in its development, so that several documentaries have come out of their usual niche on the small screen or the festival circuit to become a benchmark for rethinking questions about our recent past. This is undoubtedly a trend that can be seen in other countries, as shown by two of the documentaries presented in this series, made in Argentina and Peru, which deal with other ways of approaching society's past.

With this programme, a collaboration begins with the Valladolid International Film Week (SEMINCI), a great champion for these types of contents from the Story Time section, which gives our series its name. To do this, the festival has selected four titles that more than meet the proposal of approaching the past to think about it in a different way.
