Committed and confessional voices: deciphering the poetics of women poets from Central America
Tribuna de hispanistas indios
This month we have the participation of the Hispanist Prof. Rama Paul in the Indian Hispanist Forum lecture series.
Her study aims to highlight the feminine poetics of Central America specifically focusing on women poets from the countries of Guatemala and Nicaragua. By focusing on the poets Ana María Rodas, Gioconda Belli and Daisy Zamora, among others, the presentation will attempt to decipher the aesthetic evolution and political conviction that outlined their poetic identity and consolidated their discursive praxis. Additionally, given the tumultuous history in the region, it will explore how their poetics transmitted a voice committed to the social that at the same time also acquired a confessional tone implying a clear relationship between body, emotion and politics.
