EU Fim Festival

The European Union Film Festival is the Delegation's main cultural outreach activity, held annually in India and organised in collaboration with the Embassies, Consulates and Cultural Institutes of the Member States. This cooperation is the result of the recognition of cultural diplomacy as an important tool to promote mutual understanding, dialogue, peace-building and inclusive development, key priorities of the Commission. It aims to enhance EU-India people-to-people and artistic ties within the framework of the EU-India strategic partnership, and to promote diversity through international cultural relations, which is an integral part of the EU's role as a global player. The aim of the Festival is also to use cinema as a key driver for dialogue, especially in the current situation where culture and creativity have been severely affected but remain more relevant than ever. Each country proposes a film, which is usually a recent release. The festival is a showcase of European cinema in which the latest movies will be screened in their original version with subtitles. Our auditorium will host several screenings from different countries.
