Ángel González and the poetry of the Generation of '50

We dedicate the last session of “Hispanism in Action” to the Spanish poet Ángel Gonzalez, in commemoration of his birth centenary (1925-2025). Bengali poet Subhro Bandopadhyay will give a talk exploring the role and influence of the Generation of '50 in Spanish literature. He will also discuss Ángel González's presence as one of the main pillars of poetry in that generation, alongside other notable figures such as Antonio Gamoneda, José Ángel Valente, María Victoria Atencia, Jaime Gil de Biedma, Claudio Rodríguez, and Gloria Fuertes.
