A Love Bewitched
Javier del RealManuel de Falla, one of the greatest representatives of Spanish musical nationalism, is one of the most prominent composers of the early twentieth century, along with other great musicians such as Isaac Albéniz or Joaquín Turina, he is one of the most important Spanish composers of all times.
El amor brujo is one of his most outstanding works, in which, with a noticeable Andalusian character, he delves into gypsy mysticism, drawing closer to love in its most primitive and essential way. Víctor Ullate is one of the most recognized choreographers in the world of Spanish dance, and has won awards such as the National Dance Prize (1989) or the Max Prize of Honor (2008).
In addition to the music of the original work, the choreography includes three popular songs by Manuel de Falla and a variation by Paco de Lucía. Moreover, this production of El amor brujo features the flamenco singer Estrella Morente, one of the greatest artists of the flamenco genre, with countless awards such as the Ondas Award for Best Flamenco Creation, and two Latin Grammy nominations.
