Balance
The Instituto Cervantes in Manchester hosts the third concert of the José Franco Company's tour of the United Kingdom with its show "Balance". A show that seeks flamenco harmony between guitar, voice and dance, looking for its roots in traditional flamenco, but also open to the influences of the new paths of art in search of a contrast between the ancient and the modern, the precise and the abstract or femininity and masculinity.
The José Franco Company is formed by José Franco (Director, choreographer and dancer), Carlos Llave (musical composition and guitar), Inmaculada Carmona (dancer) and Eduardo López (voice).
José Franco studied Classical Spanish Dance and Flamenco at the Professional Dance Conservatory of Madrid. Soon after, José joined renowned dance companies such as Aida Gómez, Ballet Español Rafael Aguilar, Bfm, Centro Andaluz de Danza, Taller Ballet Nacional de España and Carmen Mota.
In 2016, he directed his first solo show entitled 'Flamenco en XXI', the premiere took place in Malaga under the musical direction of Daniel Casares. Jose has taught numerous flamenco workshops in Spain, Germany and France.
Jose also worked as a choreographer for the flamenco show at the Europa Park theme park in Germany. In 2018 he premiered his second debut 'A sola2' at the Florida Theatre in Algeciras, Cadiz (Spain).
Currently, he is a member of the Ballet Flamenco Sara Baras, co-director and flamenco teacher at Taller del Arte Espacio Creative in Estepona, Málaga (Spain).
