Cortos en femenino

Cortos en femenino Coordinadora Trama

Cortos en femenino is the program that is annually convened by TRAMA, Coordinator of Exhibitions and Festivals of Film, Video, and Multimedia made by Women, to give visibility to short films made by women in Spain.

This year's selection brings together three of the winning pieces from the 2022 competition. Two fiction and an animated documentary piece make up this cinematic ensemble that showcases the interest of female filmmakers in continuing to reflect through audiovisual creation on many of the debates that feminism has brought to the forefront. Through formal proposals, both narrative and experimental, these three short films address issues such as gender identity, migration policies, and functional diversity, emphasizing the value of cinematic language about feminist activism.

The screening of the short films will be followed by a post-screening discussion on women working in Spanish language filmmaking, with Carmen Herrero (MMU) and Abigail Loxham (University of Liverpool).
