Wine Tasting event in Manchester
Instituto Cervantes MánchesterInstituto Cervantes in Manchester, in collaboration with INNSiDE By Meliá Manchester, the Spanish Wine Federation, the Consulate General of Spain in Manchester, and Bodegas Borsao, invites you to a wine tasting event. The tasting aims to showcase the cultural richness of Spanish wines in the north of England and will feature a speaker, Juan Manuel Bellver Sánchez. Juan Manuel Bellver Sánchez is a Spanish journalist specializing in wine, gastronomy, culture, and lifestyle. Since 1991, he has been writing about wine and restaurants, and in 2001, he was awarded the National Gastronomy Prize by the Spanish Royal Academy of Gastronomy, where he is now a full member and part of the governing board. Since 2014, wine has been at the core of his professional career, through trade, teaching, and consulting for wineries and top-tier restaurant groups. He is a founding member of a wine-related website and co-author of the book 1,001 Wines You Must Try Before You Die. A lover of wines with history and of the history of wine, his presentation will cover the past and present of Spanish wine, highlighting its inspiring role in the works of Spanish-speaking writers from different eras. Bodegas Borsao, from the province of Zaragoza, will present a variety of wines during the tasting, including Viña Borgia Organic, Tres Picos, and Zarihs, along with a selection from their cellar. Each of these wines reflects the winery’s commitment to nature. For them, sustainability is central to the entire company and is continually present in their strategy. Year after year, they grow with a commitment to continuous improvement that goes far beyond simply complying with local and EU regulations, integrating this green philosophy into their daily management decisions, which can be tasted in their wines.
