Literary Translation Workshop: El fútbol a sol y sombra, by Eduardo Galeano

Translating is a way of reading.

We read the same text, but we produce different versions according to what we understand and feel when reading, and also according to our way of expressing ourselves, our creativity and the use that our version will have.

In this workshop we invite you to reflect on the meaning of the original text, to share your translations and to debate them.

The March session is dedicated to rehearsal. We will translate a chapter from the book Soccer in Sun and Shadow, "The English Invasions", by the Uruguayan writer Eduardo Galeano.

The workshop will be coordinated by Luz Comendador (librarian and translator).
