Sirât

Sirât BTeam Pictures

Screening of the film by Spanish-French director Oliver Laxe, nominated for the Oscar for Best International Feature Film

Synopsis:

A father, accompanied by his son, arrives at a rave deep in the mountains of Morocco, searching for his daughter, Mar, who vanished months prior. Surrounded by electronic music and a new sense of freedom, they join some of the ravers in the hope of finding her at one last party in the desert. Named after the razor-thin bridge that, in Islamic culture, is said to pass over Hell en route to paradise, Sirāt is a visually stunning, emotionally charged tale that seals French-born Galician director Oliver Laxe’s place as one of the new masters of world cinema. Winner: Jury Prize, Best Composer, Palm Dog, Cannes.
