Revealing Mario
An intimate look at the life and work of Mario Pacheco, a man who, far from
the spotlight and the media noise, led an unprecedented revolution in the music
and photography of our country. A promoter of new flamenco and world music, we
will learn about the great impact of Nuevos Medios, the record company he
founded with his wife Cucha Salazar. Together they broke all the schemes,
re-founding the new flamenco with Ketama, Pata Negra or Ray Heredia, producing
the most significant groups of the Movida and distributing in Spain
international bands of the stature of New Order or The Smiths. Among more than 20,000 unpublished negatives developed for the documentary,
we will see for the first time key photographs that show surprising images of
national and international stars and we will delve into snapshots that have
become mythical, from the well-known portrait of Jimmy Hendrix at the Isle of
Wight festival to the sensational cover of Camarón's 1979 album “La leyenda del
tiempo”.
