Elena López Riera's work explores the boundaries of non-fiction. It focuses on scenes from her hometown, Orihuela (Alicante), and the rituals and traditions that make up the memory of the place and serve as a generational link, creating communities that bring together people of all ages, attracted by these ceremonies. Her images eschew literal narrative, bringing us closer in a poetic way to all that is mysterious and fascinating in reality, where she often plays with contrasts and where observation and recreation coexist without complexes.
