Friends’ Lecture & Reception: Eduardo Chillida

Friends’ Lecture & Reception: Eduardo Chillida Chillida Leku

This special event offers an in-depth look at the life and work of Spanish sculptor Eduardo Chillida through a conversation between his grandson, Mikel Chillida, and Dr. Rachel Jans, Associate Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art at The San Diego Museum of Art. The dialogue accompanies the exhibition Eduardo Chillida: Convergence, the most extensive presentation of the artist's work in North America in nearly fifty years. The exhibition brings together sculptures and works on paper that reflect Chillida’s deep connection with the landscape, culture, and philosophical heritage of the Basque Country, exploring themes such as nature, light, architecture, and the interplay between material and void.
