Animayo in Los Angeles 2025
Animayo, the 20th International Animation, Visual Effects and Video Game Film Festival, the only Spanish festival that qualifies for the Oscar® Awards in the animated short film category, is coming to Los Angeles between October and November thanks to the collaboration of the Instituto Cervantes in Los Angeles. The screening programme includes a session at the Cervantes Institute, where the Animayo 2025 Awards winners and the short film Cafuné (Spain), winner of the 2025 Goya®, will be screened, as a candidate for the list of short films nominated for the Academy Award for Best Short Film. The screening will take place at the Institute's cinema. This programme will be repeated in collaboration with major Hollywood film studios, which will lend their theatres to host it. In addition, the Cervantes Institute and Animayo are inviting interested schools from the Los Angeles school system and other cities in the county to join an educational day in which attendees will receive training and information to participate in the children's and youth animation literacy programme created by Animayo for use in schools, first in the Canary Islands and then in different cities around the world.
