LONDON FLAMENCO FESTIVAL 2016
Flamenco Festival London, Sadler’s Wells’ renowned annual season of flamenco dance and music returns for its thirteenth year, celebrating the diversity and dynamism of the genre.
In a fortnight featuring seven unique shows, audiences will be able to enjoy some of the world’s most outstanding stars of flamenco, including work by Sara Baras and Farruquito. The Flamenco Festival Gala brings together the artists that received awards at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla, while Vicente Amigo returns to great acclaim as the celebrated musician plays works from his new album, Tierra.
Olga Pericet brings a fearless piece inspired by the cycles of life and the power of connecting with our origins, and then shares the stage with Marco Flores in a show which alternates between poetry and virtuosity. Finally, Esperanza Fernández is joined by Marina Heredia and Ana Morales, exploring experimental musical crossovers and classical styles.
The Instituto Cervantes collaborates once again with the festival presenting three shows that stand out for their innovative spirit : "Voces del Extremo " by Niño de Elche, “Loco Strings” by Daniel Casares and Adam Ben Ezra and the " Guitarrísimo " concert by the young soloist Manuel Valencia at the Instituto Cervantes.
