L'Apothéose
L’Aphotéose is an ancient music ensemble known worldwide. In
this performance, they will interpret a programme of sacred and profane pieces
that would have filled the grandeur of the Spanish Court of Madrid between 1720
and 1750. In the recital, the audience will hear some vocal pieces, including
several Cantadas, the Spanish name for this genre. Alongside the works of José
de Nebra, one of the most prolific and imaginative Spanish composers, the
group presents the work of Juan Francés Irabbaren, a Latin American composer.
You will also hear works by Facco, who was Master of the Royal Chapel in
1720 and Corselli, Master of the Royal Chapel of Madrid for more than 30
years, the city where he developed much of his professional career.
