Concert - Violin on fire
The Spanish Music and Dance Festival celebrates its fifth edition this April at The Horton (Epsom), in collaboration with the classical collective Alma Española and Instituto Cervantes London. Concert by violinist Rezart Kapetani and pianist José-Vicente Riquelme. Spanish music for violin offers a rich tapestry of styles, blending folk and classical traditions while incorporating influences from flamenco and popular music. Its expressiveness even finds unexpected echoes in the work of non‑Spanish composers such as Rachmaninoff and Bartók. At once virtuosic and deeply emotional, this music is as complex as it is accessible.
