Spanish Festival of Music and Dance

Spanish Festival of Music and Dance Festival de Música y danza españolas en The Horton

This year, the festival brings together outstanding dancers, pianists, and violinists in a programme that combines music, dance, and outreach activities. From 1 to 3 April, audiences will enjoy themed talks, piano and violin recitals, concerts inspired by Cádiz and Granada, as well as a family show. With the option of guaranteed front‑row seating for the evening performances, the festival offers an immersive experience that brings the richness of Spanish musical and dance traditions closer to the public.

The programme opens with a talk dedicated to the 150th anniversary of Manuel de Falla, a central figure in 20th‑century Spanish music. This conversation will allow audiences to delve into the life, work, and legacy of the composer from Cádiz, a key figure in the aesthetic renewal of European music.

That same day continues with the recital Violin on Fire, a performance that highlights the expressive power, rhythmic passion, and distinctive nuances of the Spanish violin repertoire, performed by top‑level guest musicians.

On Thursday, 2 April, the festival proposes a combination of literature, music, and reflection with the presentation of the book Breezes of Spain, followed by the recital Piano on Silk, in which the piano becomes a thread connecting intimate, evocative, and colourful melodies characteristic of the Spanish musical imagination. That evening also features the concert Cádiz, one of the festival’s major moments, celebrating the connection between music, dance, and the cultural heritage of southern Spain. With dancers, pianists, and violinists on stage, this performance offers audiences the chance to enjoy the energy, virtuosity, and expressiveness that define Andalusia’s artistic tradition.

This year, the festival also offers the option of guaranteed front‑row seating for the evening concerts, allowing audiences to appreciate the detail, gesture, and rhythm of the performers up close. Friday, 3 April begins with a family concert inspired by Ferdinand and the Little Bull, designed to introduce young audiences to music and storytelling linked to Spanish culture, combining narrative, humour, and participation.

The programme concludes that evening with the concert Granada, a musical tribute to one of the most influential cities in Spain’s artistic history. Inspired by its landscape, architecture, and sound tradition, the performance proposes a sensory journey shaped by emotion and beauty. The Spanish Festival of Music and Dance 2026 thus reaffirms its commitment to promoting Spanish culture, offering a space where tradition and innovation engage in dialogue through art. For The Horton, this fifth edition represents a special celebration that brings together exceptional artists and an increasingly diverse and enthusiastic audience, turning Epsom into a vibrant meeting point for music, dance, and history over the course of three days.
