I Yorkshire Flamenco Cultural Week Rocío Mesonero

The Instituto Cervantes in Leeds proudly presents the I Yorkshire Flamenco Cultural Week. An ambitious cultural programme that aims to spread and promote the Flamenco culture not only in this county, but throughout the United Kingdom. The program includes a series of events around flamenco in all its forms, which will take place between 28th and 31st October 2019 in Leeds. 


The main event will be the performance of Flamenco Millennial, a remarkable flamenco trio formed by the bailaor (flamenco dancer) David Morales, the flamenco guitarist Salvador Andrades and the cantaora (flamenco singer) Esperanza León, on 30th October .

In addition, it will feature the conferences Flamenco in the United Kingdom, by the founder of Manchester Flamenco Sarah Chambers; a presentation on the documentation available in the Special Collections of the University of Leeds Library about dance rites in the Romany population of Spain in the early Modern Age (1492-1789) by the researcher Massimo Aresu; the conference Interactive Flamenco, by Salvador Andrades; and two workshops by the Millennial Flamenco artists. 

These cultural week will not only take place in Leeds, but also will include events in the cities of Liverpool and Manchester.
