Zumiriki

Zumiriki Santos Bregaña

The career of filmmaker Oskar Alegría is defined by his incessant questioning of the folds of reality. We perceive his films as inquiries from his investigative and experimental self that reveal, either in the past, as in The House of Emak Bakia (2012) or Hotza (2018), or in the future, as in Zumiriki (2020), the enormous complexity of what can be considered solemn, sacred or atavistic, but also the tenderness or humour that lies behind the trivial.

Synopsis: The film tells the story of an isolated castaway in the forests of the Navarrese Pyrenees —a person whose goal is to reconnect with nature and his childhood, and whose main focus is waiting.
