Flamenco Dance Workshop: Tangos de Cádiz Garp Estudio, Instituto Cervantes Dublín

This practical flamenco dance workshop will include the learning of the Tangos de Cádiz. The classes includes body techniques, footwork and the use of castanets, as well as history and cultural context. 


The tango (por tangos) is a flamenco style with copla and cheerful dance. Considered one of the basic forms of flamenco, there are various modalities, among them, the Tangos de Cádiz have their origin in the tonadillas typical of Castilla and Aragón, mixed with a copious rhythm influenced by North Africa. 

Sandra Palomar began her Flamenco dance studies in Malaga at the age of seven. Later she entered the Royal Conservatory of music and dance of the same city. At the age of fifteen, she moved to Madrid, where he continued to train with important masters of the Flamenco scene. Subsequently, she works as a professional dancer in the Boston Flamenco Ballet dance company for eleven consecutive years, while presenting shows in different countries in America and Europe. In 2012 she moved to Ireland, where she continues her training in various disciplines of the body, such as physical therapy for rehabilitation of injuries for dancers and athletes and sports conditioning. In addition to her facet as a dancer, Sandra Palomar is a Pilates and Yoga teacher.
