Azaletik azalera [‘Skin to skin’]
With this award-winning short, Mel Arranz has firmly positioned herself within the fascinating panorama of Basque animation. Initially conceived during her artistic residency in Mexico, her piece ranges in tone from white all the way through to black and represents a true visual experiment, successfully using detailed drawings of skin on skin to depict physical intimacy, so difficult to capture in live action cinema.
