Zama
Lucrecia MartelZama (2017) by Lucrecia Martel, adapts to the screen the often considered “unfilmable” novel by Antonio Di Benedetto about a colonial official anchored in Asunción, Paraguay at the end of the 18th century who waits in vain to be transferred, at the mercy of arbitrariness, a world that devours him and memories that dissolve. Martel manages to create a hallucinatory atmosphere that leads to both interior and exterior adventure, without leaving aside a subtle x-ray of power.
