In this bilingual workshop (Spanish/English), we will explore translation as if it were an obsessive reading: a way to personally create and recreate those texts that fascinate us. Using the reflections of authors/translators such as Kate Briggs, Mireille Gansel, and Rosario Castellanos, we will investigate how to create and practice a translation that coexists with reading and writing.
General Objective:
Participants will learn how to recreate the translation of a text that fascinates them, as well as how to use translation as a method of close reading.
Materials: Paper and writing materials; one or two pages of a text in English or Spanish that fascinates you.
Requirements: Attend the entire session and actively participate.
Duration: session of 100 minutes.
Number of Participants:10.
