Guitarrísimo: Dúo Belcorde desconocido

The Spanish Duo Belcorde consists of Manuel Briega, violin, and Adrián Fernández, Spanish guitar. Violin and guitar form a duo of great interest, thanks to the versatility of these two instruments, the tune, melody and harmony of the same variety and perfect symbiosis that develops between them. Dúo Belcorde has made numerous national and international tours such as Japan, Brazil Morocco, Turkey, Australia, New Zeeland, United States of America, China, Portugal, etc. organized by important public and private institutions as well as different governments around the world. The Performance consists of a concert with a selection of Spanish works and master pieces composed between XVII and XX centuries, a selection of pieces from the music of the Cervantes’s time to Spanish music of XX century. The concert stars with the “Cervantes Suite” by the composer Gaspar Sanz, a work about the popular music that Cervantes loved at that time. Next, a work of Spanish musical classicism, the Sonata in G Major by Antonio Soler, a musical adaptation for violin and guitar of a piece originally written for harpsichord, it’s a virtuoso and great work in that musical period. The concert continues with two Spanish dances by Enrique Granados, work done between Romanticism and Spanish Musical Nationalism period. This last style is very present in the concert who’s main characteristic is based on elements of Spanish folklore. Actually, Duo Belcorde will perform other works inspired in this style, like “Tango” by Isaac Albéniz, “Playera” by Pablo Sarasate and “Spanish Serenade”, both of them written in the XIX century. The most important characteristic of this style are the search for a renaissance for Spanish music and the element that determines the Spanish musical nationalism was the conscience of the wealth of own folklore and it’s was secured even more in the XX century. The audience will listen to it in the final part of this concert with the performance of Spanish Folksongs by Federico García Lorca and by Manuel de Falla.
