Bilingual Family Spanish/Flamenco Guitar Classes. Beginner level

Bilingual Family Spanish/Flamenco Guitar Classes. Beginner level Serge Priniotakis

This level is designed for students that have not previously studied music or guitar. We will start from the beginning with playing notes, rhythms and basic chords on the guitar. We will also explore new musical concepts such as rhythm and beat, which will help in our musical development. By the end of the course, you will be able to play simple songs and basic melodies.

Classes will be conducted by Luis Rafael Vivanco who began his early studies in classical guitar in Peru. He went on to complete his B.Mus. degree at the University of British Columbia, where he studied with Michael Strutt. While completing this degree, he learned the lute and baroque guitar from Ray Nurse. He received his M.Mus in guitar performance with Denis Azabagic at Roosevelt University in Chicago.

Luis has performed in Canada, Mexico, Peru and the United States. He has played in master clases for many guitarists such as Alexander Dunn, Eduardo Fernandez, Fabio Zanon, Jason Vieux, Laura Oltman, Pablo Cohen, Pamela Kimmel among others. He divides his times between ensemble and solo performing and teaching.
