Camila

Camila María Luisa Bemberg

Camila, by María Luisa Bemberg, was a huge success in 1984 that was nominated for the Oscars. The film, starring Susú Pecoraro and Imanol Arias, narrates the impossible romance between a young woman from a family linked to power and a priest, within the framework of the government of Juan Manuel de Rosas. Metaphor and mirror of what had happened during the dictatorship, it is also a great melodrama, that genre about passion in the face of social prejudice.

There will be an opening dialogue between the curator of the series, Mr. Andres Duprat, Director of the National Museum of Fine Arts of Argentina and Mr. Pepe Vargas, Director of the International Latino Cultural Center of Chicago.
