Xico in Jordan

Xico in Jordan Leyendas árabes inspiradas en XICO

The exhibition features 22 illustrations of Mexican and Arab legends, compiled by Xico. Xico is a character created by Mexican designer Cristina Pineda, inspired by the Xoloitzcuintle, a breed of dog native to Mexico and dating back to pre-Hispanic times. Xico promotes cultural exchange and supports emerging talent through art. 


"Xico in Jordan" is a visual arts exhibition combining illustrations of Mexican and Arab legends collected through Xico. The first book in the collection, Las Leyendas de Xico: 32 leyendas (The Legends of Xico: 32 Legends), with one legend for each of the 32 states of the Mexican Republic. The Arab legends originate from the oral tradition of Arab peoples. 

This event is being held to celebrate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Mexico and Jordan.
