Tribute to Mario Benedetti on the centenary of his birth

The Instituto Cervantes in Amman organizes a colloquium dedicated to the memory of the Uruguayan writer Mario Benedetti on the occasion of the centenary of his birth.

Luis García Montero, poet, director of the Instituto Cervantes and personal friend of Mario Benedetti will virtually participate in this tribute. Likewise, Juan Vicente Piqueras, poet and director of the centre in Amman, will read some of Benedetti's poems, give a brief presentation of his life and work, and hold a discussion with the participants who will have previously read the author's poems and stories.

Mario Benedetti is one of the most popular, widely read, and loved Hispanic writers, playwrights, and poets of the 20th-century Hispanic American literature.
