The Spanish Embassy in Jordan and the Instituto Cervantes in Amman participate in the Comic Week in Jordan organized by EUNIC-Jordan and the European Union Delegation. In this third edition, the Spanish illustrator, author, and comic critic, Ángel de la Calle, will participate.
De la Calle will open on May 9th at the exhibit <<Ángel de la Calle. Intermittent images>> and will give a three-day duration workshop under the title of <<Tell the history in a comic. An introduction>>.
Ángel de la Calle Hernández (Molinillo de la Sierra, Salamanca, 1958) is a Spanish illustrator, author, and comic critic. He has been making comics professionally since 1979. He has collaborated with publications such as Zona 84, El Víbora, Comic Internacional, Rambla o Heavy Metal.
In 2003 he published Modotti, a woman from the XX century, pioneer work in the Spanish graphic novel movement, that received several awards and has been translated into six languages.
War Paints (2017), his next vast work, was awarded in 2018 with the Best Work by a Spanish Author at the Comic Fair in Barcelona.
