Instituto Cervantes Albuquerque launches the New Narratives Workshop focused on the creation of the new biography of Teresa Urrea (Ocoroni, Sinaloa, Mexico, 1873 - Clifton, Arizona, USA, 1906). Related to the "Mujeres santas" Project, conceived and directed by cultural manager, museologist and international curator Nekane Aramburu, and developed on the border between the southern United States and Mexico, together with artist Ana Gallardo, based on the legendary figure of Teresa Urrea.
This online workshop consists of a theoretical part taught by Nekane Aramburu and an experiential part taught by Ana Gallardo.
This online workshop will be the second session of the workshop held last November 10, 2022 and consists of an Analysis and Sharing Session. Working session to analyze the results of the previous workshop (4 hours). Depending on the progression of the workshop it is feasible the edition of a video or publication, and will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022.
Who is the target audience?
Collectives of women activists, associations committed to gender violence, anthropologists, historians, cultural workers, artists from visual to performing arts, social mediators and trainers of groups at risk.
Contents: Experimenting new ways of biography through audiovisual material, the analysis of oral memory and construction practices, horizontal and networked.
We will look for new ways of biographing from a gender perspective in openness with the current social dynamics to rethink memories.
It will focus on subjects related to popular sacralization, sanctified women and the reconstruction of biographies for identity and gender revisions linked to the "Holy Women" project.
