Cátedra Cervantes Puerto Rico

In 2024, the Instituto Cervantes and the University of Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras Campus (UPRRP) signed an agreement between the two institutions for the creation of the Cátedra Cervantes, directed by Puerto Rican writer Luis Rafael Sánchez.

The Cátedra Cervantes is attached to the Department of Hispanic Studies of the School of Humanities of the University of Puerto Rico and carries out its activities in collaboration with the Instituto Cervantes Albuquerque and the Consulate General of Spain in Puerto Rico. The Cátedra Cervantes aims to promote the Spanish language and culture among the university community, as well as to carry out various academic and cultural activities in the facilities of this academic institution.
